Season's greetings from the royal family! Kate Middleton and Prince William have officially unveiled their 2025 family Christmas card photo.
Taken in April 2025 by photographer Josh Shinner — the portrait, which was shared on the royal couple’s social media accounts on Dec. 18 — shows the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, with their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, as they cozy up together in a field of daffodils. William and Louis are matching in dark green sweaters over collared shirts, and Louis wears a dark green vest over his. Kate wears a dark brown sweater with a houndstooth coat, while Charlotte is in a green Fair Isle sweater.
This isn’t the first time the Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a family photo at Christmas time — the family’s annual portrait is often used as their holiday card photo.
Their 2024 Christmas card, for instance, featured a photo of Kate, William and the kids at their home in Norfolk over the summer. The portrait was initially released in September 2024, when Kate announced that she had finished chemotherapy. For their 2023 holiday card, the family opted for a more minimalist approach: a black-and-white portrait of them in matching button-down shirts.
While the general public is often able to view the royal family’s Christmas card photos on social media, physical copies are given primarily to extended family, friends and staff, as well as charities and commonwealth representatives. To potentially receive this year’s card, according to the Metro newspaper, you can send a Christmas card of your own to the specified royal’s residence along with a return address, and their staff will send you back a Christmas card and thank-you note. For Kate and William, for instance, the card would be sent to Kensington Palace.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales continue to celebrate the holiday season. The couple stepped out for their fifth annual “Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey on Dec. 5. George, Charlotte and Louis were also in attendance.
